About Us

Quilting Web is owned and opperated by Sharni Vaughan. Sharni is an Australian who is currently residing in Texas with her husband Greg and three children. Sharni created her first web page back in 1995 before the internet was an everyday household tool.

Sharni took her first quilting lesson in 1997 at a community centre in Australia. She learned hand piecing and that quilt is still in block form! After moving to the US, she was without a sewing machine for a very long two years before finally being given a new one for Christmas in 2002. Since then Sharni has been quilting up a storm.

Sharni joined the Quilters Guild of Plano in 2003 at the urging of her quilting (and published) mother-in-law Beth Little. In 2004 Sharni became more involved in the guild taking on the position of webmaster, which she did for 3 years. When assembling the local quilt business links page, she found that many of the smaller quilt related businesses did not have a web site. Quilters she finds for the most part do alot of their research on the internet, finding what services are out there, and she feels that all quilting businesses should have a website, with at the very least information about where to find that business.

So in 2004, Sharni formed Quilting Web, with the purpose of providing an affordable and complete web design and hosting service to these small businesses. Sharni confesses that she is a quilting fanatic and a computer nerd, what better combination for someone providing a web design service for quilters?

After forming the business Quilting Web, with the target audience being small quilt businesses, Sharni found that there was a need for other small businesses for affordable web sites, and that her clients came from all business paths.
